I've been playing XCom 2 for a week now with no error like you
describe except for a few random squeals before startup and the
battlescape scene. I noticed that the GF1.com and ultramid versions
shipped with XCom2 were the old ones so I replaced them with the
newer ones. (I believe I'm using v1.12 now). The squeals remained.
The only problem I really don't like is that I can't have my GUS
playing digital sound and run the animations at the same time. If
anyone knows a solution for that problem I'd love to see it.

poison. Thus proving the essential identity of the two languages.

Hiyup,
I would just like to add..
Who cares if the GUS is brill.. If it don't work ? (With most software)
I would also like to say how sick I am of E-mailling Games Developers to ask: Is
this supporting the gus ? No? Why not? and so on.. Isn't it Gravis' Job to make sure that its soundcard is supported? Haven't they ever heard of proper marketing?
I want the GUS to be number one just as much as everyone else, but until Gravis sorts its act out I fail to see this happening. I want a card that plugs in and works (with everything), sure its fun to mess around with DMA's etc. but only to a certain extent. I fail to see the point in rubbishing the Soundblaster range when it can be relied on to work with ALL software.

And as to who actually wants a SoundBlaster ?
Well, more people than those who want the GUS ! ;-)
